"… If you meditate, sooner or later you will come upon love. If you meditate deeply, sooner or later you will start feeling a tremendous love arising in you that you have never known before - a new quality to your being, a new door opening. You have become a new flame and now you want to share. If you love deeply, by and by you will become aware that your love is becoming more and more meditative. A subtle quality of silence is entering in you. Thoughts are disappearing, gaps appearing...silence! You are touching your own depht. Love makes you meditative if it is on the right lines. Meditation makes you loving if it is on the right lines. You want a love which is born out of meditation, not born out of the mind. That is the love I continually talk about"-

What is the Humaniversity Aum Meditation?

The Aum is a two and a half hour, twelve stage meditation and therapeutic process created by Veeresh. It is an opportunity to look at your emotional life and reclaim the joy of simply being alive.

The participant journeys through the whole spectrum of human emotions, including anger, love, sadness, laughter and chaos. All stages are accompanied by specially designed and often uplifting music.

Unlike conventional therapy, the ‘Aum’ is interpersonal, it can be deeply effective, experiential, and provide lasting results.

The twelve stages

Most stages last 10 - 15 mins. Different music is designed for each stage. The whole process is clearly explained and demonstrated to newcomers and the leader will guide participants into each stage as it comes.

For the first time it can be helpful to "act as if " feelings are there and see what happens.

The Aum team provides a safe and supportive space for you to explore these structures; you are encouraged - but never forced - to go beyond your limits.

This is a celebratory, fun process and by the end you should feel more light and relaxed and able to make friends. You will meet others in a new way and feel ongoing support in your life.

Afterwards we usually go for a buffet supper in a local restaurant and everyone is welcome to come.

First Stage - Return to hell

You put out all your negativity, frustrations and anger, using any words that come. You face a partner and move to as many people as possible.

This stage allows you to express your No to create space for a Yes. It opens the door for love and to coming closer to people. You experience being in your power.

Second Stage - Heaven

You turn the energy around to 'Love'. Stand in front of someone, hold hands, look into their eyes and say 'I Love You' and hug. Express all the appreciation and love you have for the other.

Connect with the healing power of love. You will feel nourished by expressing your love and hearing that you are loveable.

Third Stage - Second Wind

Second Wind is a bioenergetic exercise to increase your energy levels. This is about finding out you have more energy than your mind can imagine.

Run on the spot with your arms up, knees lifting high and feel your feet making contact with the earth. Stay connected with each other and make a sound. Your body becomes lighter making it easier to run.

Fourth Stage - Kundalini Rising

Take a grounded position and let your whole body shake. The energy generated from the second wind helps you relax into shaking easily. Your mind relaxes and muscular tensions are released.

Your body is in a gently vibrant state. Healing can happen on all levels taking you to a state of well being, happiness and clarity of mind.

Fifth Stage - Cuckoo's Nest

When you express your craziness consciously, you remain sane. Move, breathe and make a sound. Do whatever comes up, scream, throw a tantrum, act like a crazy person, jump, cry.

This is 'catharsis', a Greek word which means 'freaking out' or releasing repressed energies. This is a cleaning process. When the old repressions are cleaned out you become more alive in the moment and in touch with your feelings.

Sixth Stage - Free

Celebrate your life and dance. Express your inner experience through the movement of your body. Through dance you can experience who you truly are.

Seventh Stage - Crying

Sit by yourself or with someone else and allow yourself to cry. Think of all the painful situations in your life, make a soft sound and hold yourself. When you allow yourself to be vulnerable, to cry, you begin to heal pain and move towards a connection with your heart, towards joy.

Eighth Stage - Laughing

Switch the energy and laugh. Giggle, have a belly laugh, move, make jokes, be playful and have fun. It is well known that laughing is healing for body and mind. Tragedies turn into comedies and you can start to see the funny side of a situation.

Ninth Stage - Dance of the Lovers

Dance in a sensual way with each other or by yourself. Feel your own aliveness and juiceyness and enjoy flirting. Use your body to express and celebrate your own sensuality.

Tenth Stage - Centre of the Universe

Stand in a circle, gaze softly at the light of a candle and chant the sound of AUM. Aum is the fundamental sound of the universe and it integrates your experience of the meditation. You will feel more settled in your centre, calm and peaceful.

Eleventh Stage - Wowing

Sit on your own, with eyes closed, doing nothing. You have the opportunity to reach an empty space of communion with existence leaving you in a 'WOW' state.

Twelfth Stage - Namaste and Hugging

Go to each other, put your hands together in the Indian greeting position, look into the eyes of the other person, bow and say 'Namaste'. Then you hug. Meet everyone in the room. 'Namaste' means I greet and recognise the Buddha in you. This is a chance to thank each other for sharing the meditation.
